1.
How do I prevent my pipes from freezing?
Keep faucets dripping during long-term freezing weather, especially in uninsulated areas. Open cabinet doors.
2.
My pipe froze or broke. What should I do?
City-owned pipes stop at the water meter. If the broken pipe is on your property or in your residence, turn off your water and water heater call a plumber as soon as possible. Do not attempt to open the water meter box near the curb. Call 503-526-2220 for more information.

Broken water meters are most likely to occur after a storm. Broken or frozen meters may cause street flooding or cut off water supply to your home. Call 503-526-2220 to report.
