I own my own construction company, or I want to hire a construction company owned by my spouse or relative. Do I still need to obtain contractor’s estimates from other companies?

No. If you have an ownership stake or a familial relationship with a contractor, you may use your preferred contractor for your project so long as the company meets the City of Beaverton’s requirements. However, certain conditions apply, including but not limited to:

  • The grantee must disclose to their Grant Manager of the relationship with their contractor prior to signing a Grant Agreement
  • The City of Beaverton will not reimburse more than a 10% overage in line-item costs beyond what was approved as part of the original project budget
  • Certain project costs, such as the contractor’s profit line item, will not be eligible for reimbursement
