Surface water management rate charges are based on the number of equivalent surface units (ESUs), or 2,640 square feet of impervious surfaces. Each ESU is charged $10.78 per month. The average single-family residence is charged one ESU per month. All other properties are calculated based on the actual amount of impervious surface area.
What Funds Are Used for
The fees collected for surface water management are used to maintain storm runoff facilities - such as ditches, street drains and catch basins - and to provide street sweeping services.
These funds are also used to help clean up the various streams and rivers in our area as well as protecting the environment from polluted runoff.
