Encouraging Water Conservation Efforts

To encourage residential water customers to conserve water the City of Beaverton is offering a Residential Rebate Program. Under the program, residential users can receive rebates for replacing older inefficient toilets and washing machines with high-efficiency models. Residents can also receive a $50 rebate for installing a WaterSense Weather-Based Irrigation Controller to help them water their yard wisely.

Rebate Eligibility Requirements

  • Rebates are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Applicants must own and live in a single-family residence within the Beaverton water service area, including a house, condominium, duplex/multiplex or manufactured home with a single or master meter. (Note: apartment owners and commercial establishments do not qualify for these rebates.)
  • The applicant must have a current Beaverton water account in good standing (no outstanding balance on previous billing periods).
  • Save your receipt - Applications must include a copy of a proof of purchase receipt from a retailer or plumbing company that specifies the purchaser date, purchased priced, manufacturer, and a model number.
  • The application must be received within 90 days of purchase date.
  • Product must be installed at the physical address on your water billing account. Prior to approval, an on-site inspection may be required by Beaverton Public Works. 
  • The total rebate will not exceed the purchase amount. Rebates will be credited to your water billing account.

How to Apply

After purchasing and installing your new HET(s) or washing machine per the eligibility requirements, complete the Residential Rebate Application form and attach a copy of the receipt. Use the check list to ensure you meet all of the program requirements and to expedite the processing of your request.

  • Toilet was installed in a single-family residence. This may be a house, condo, duplex/multiplex, or manufactured home with a single or master meter (non-commercial residence).
  • Applicant is listed on the Beaverton water account.
  • Receipt attached, and includes the washing machine / toilet make and model, as well as store name, purchase date and proof of payment.
  • The washing machine is an Energy Star OR the toilet is EPA WaterSense certified HET 1.28 gpf.
  • Applicant has not previously received a rebate at the provided address.
  • Water billing account is in good standing.
  • Submit completed rebate application and proof of purchase within 90 days.

High-Efficiency Toilet Rebates

Apply for a $75 per HET rebate when you replace your old water-wasting toilet(s) with an EPA WaterSense labeled 1.28 gpf (gallon per flush) High-Efficiency Toilet. For a list of qualifying WaterSense models, visit EPA WaterSense. Limit: 3 per household.

Porcelain Recycling

The City of Beaverton does not require recycling of old toilets, but it is strongly encouraged.

Washing Machine Rebate

Apply for a $50 rebate when you purchase and install a new Energy Star qualified washing machine. For a list of qualifying models, visit Energy Star. Limit: 1 per household.

Weather-Based Irrigation Controller Rebate

Rebate Eligibility Requirements

  • Receive a $50 rebate when you purchase and install a WaterSense labeled irrigation controller. Applicants must live in a single-family residence within the City of Beaverton Water Service area, including a house, condominium, duplex/multiplex, or manufactured home with a single or master meter. Limit one per property.
  • The applicant must have a current Beaverton water account in good standing and be the owner of the residence.
  • New controller must be a WaterSense labeled weather-based irrigation controller. A list of WaterSense certified devices may be found at EPA WaterSense Product Search
  • Applications must include a copy of a proof of purchase receipt from a retailer or plumbing company specifying the purchaser date, purchased price, manufacturer, and model number
  • Product must be installed at the physical address on your water billing account. Prior to approval, an on-site inspection may be requested by the City of Beaverton.
  • The Backflow Prevention Verification portion of the application form must be filled out completely.

After purchasing and installing your new Weather-Based Controller per the eligibility requirements outlined above, complete the Residential Rebate Application form and attach a copy of the receipt. Use the checklist below to ensure you meet all of the program requirements and to expedite the processing of your request.

  • Applicant is listed on the Beaverton water account.
  • Receipt attached, and includes the irrigation controller make and model, as well as store name, purchase date and proof of payment.
  • The device is WaterSense labeled and on the approved devices list.
  • Applicant has not previously received an irrigation rebate at the provided address.
  • Water billing account is in good standing.
  • Submit completed rebate application and proof of purchase within 90 days.

After purchasing and installing your new washing machine, toilet, or irrigation controller per the eligibility requirements, complete the Residential Rebate Application form, attach a copy of the receipt, and mail to:
