Characteristics: Mayfield Ginkgo has leaves that are bright green and fan-shaped with yellow fall color. This is a prehistoric tree that is related to a confer but has leaves rather than needles. It is a narrow grower with a graceful branching habit.

Negative Features: In female trees the fleshy covering on the seed can be messy and have an unpleasant odor. Use male trees only.

Uses: Good for narrow setbacks, cul-de-sacs and tight situations where there is little room on arterial, collector and residential streets. This tree is a good choice when a shorter tree is necessary in order not to obscure a view.

Comments: Mayfield is a narrow Ginkgo that is suitable for very tight situations and for tough urban conditions.
