Characteristics: This is a prehistoric tree that is related to a conifer but has leaves rather than needles. Bright green foliage becomes yellow in fall. This is a large columnar tree with a unique narrow canopy.

Negative Features: In female tress the fleshy covering on the seed can be messy and have an unpleasant odor. Use male trees only.

Uses: Good for narrow setbacks and tight situations. Good for all street situations where room allows on arterial, collector and residential streets.

Comments: Princeton Sentry is a good tree for tough urban conditions. Even though narrow and slow growing, it will grow quite large and tall in time.
