Characteristics: Easy to grow and maintain with very little pruning necessary, snail and slug resistant and non-aggressive roots. This deciduous magnolia has lightly fragrant, narrow white petals that bloom in early spring.

Negative Features: Fleshy roots are easily damaged when excavating beneath canopy.

Uses: Good for use in gardens or in all street situations in cul de sacs, along arterials, collectors, and residential streets.

Comments: Flowers best in full sun, thrives in rich, moist to well-drained soil but can tolerate sand and clay soils if drainage is adequate.
