Characteristics: Bright green foliage turns bright yellow to golden in the fall. Larger than the average Honeylocust, Skyline develops a strong trunk and shapely crown.

Negative Features: This tree prefers well-drained soil but is tolerant of wet soil. It grows well in alkaline and acid soils, and is hardy to cold, heat, wind and some drought.

Uses: Good for all street situations where room allows on arterial, collector and residential streets.

Comments: Although the tour only features one select Honeylocust cultivar, there are other improved cultivars like Shademaster, Trueshade, Sunburst and Christie, that can be used.
