Characteristics: Foliage is dark green, turning to red in the fall. It is resistant to sun, heat, dry winds, and leaf tatter.

Negative Features: Occasionally susceptible to aphids and scale that can cause honeydew drip and sooty mold problems. Surface roots can cause problems with sidewalks.

Uses: Good for all street situations where room allows on arterial, collector, and residential streets. Suitable for planting along boulevards.

Comments: Green Mountain is a good shade tree with excellent fall color.
