Golden Desert Ash late summer canopy with brown leaves at the top, then yellow, then green.Facts About Golden Desert Ash

Fraxinus oxycarpa aureafolia 'Golden Desert'

Native to: Australia
Crown: Rounded
Height: 30 feet
Width: 20 feet
Growth Rate: Moderate

Characteristics: Foliage is bright gold to green in spring, turning gold again around July. Bark is golden.

Negative Features: Low branching requires regular pruning to develop tree form and maintain an 8'-10' high canopy suitable for street tree use.

Uses: Good for underneath wires, cul-de-sacs, and tight situations where there is little room on arterial, collector, and residential streets. Good for entry features and highlights. This is a good choice when a shorter tree is necessary in order not to obscure a view.

Comments: Golden Desert Ash is an excellent small tree with wonderful yellow trunk, branches, and fall color.
