CIP 4021D - ASR Well Number 5

Aquifer Storage and Recovery (ASR) Well Number 5

Project Description:

ASR Well No. 1 reached the end of its useful life in 2013. ASR No. 5 is proposed to replace and offset the loss in ASR capacity from existing ASR No. 1 and add new pumping capacity of an additional 1 million gallons per day (mgd) of potable water. Staff will proceed with substantial preliminary design work for the project in FY 2015-16 using funds from the State of Oregon and the US EPA. The ASR No. 5 well and pumping station project is expected to have a total peak-capacity of 2 mgd. Construction of ASR Well No. 5 is planned at the existing Sorrento Reservoir and Pump Station site owned by the City of Beaverton. The new well borehole will be drilled to a 24-inch diameter with a 20-inch diameter steel casing to full depth.
