Beaverton will celebrate National Night Out against crime on Tuesday, August 7 from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Beaverton City Park Fountain (across from the Beaverton City Library).  Kids and adults alike can enjoy a police K-9 demonstration as well as free food, games and prizes, fire trucks, police cars, ambulances and much more. The event will be sponsored by the Beaverton Police Department and the National Association of Town Watch. If you would like more information about this year’s event, please contact Sue Hayes at the Beaverton Police Department.

For the past several years, Beaverton has joined America’s night out against crime by taking part in National Night Out. This event was created to give citizens an opportunity to take back their community by:

  • Heightening crime and drug prevention awareness
  • Generating support and participation in local anticrime efforts
  • Strengthening neighborhood spirit and police/community relations
  • Sending a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back

This “celebration of community” has proven to be an effective and fun filled event to promote neighborhood spirit and police community partnerships in our fight for a safer nation.

“It’s events such as these partnerships that foster a decreasing crime rate which we currently enjoy in Beaverton,” comments Chief of Police.

Please join your friends and neighbors at this annual event and help celebrate a night out against crime.
