Seasonal Information: Inclement Weather | Holiday Collection | Christmas Tree Recycling
As the season for winter weather approaches, it’s time for a reminder about garbage and recycling collection during inclement weather. When faced with dangerous weather and road conditions, careful consideration is given to safety conditions that may make maneuvering large trucks dangerous throughout Beaverton. The decision to service your garbage, recycling and yard debris containers is made in the very early hours of the morning by each of the seven garbage haulers providing service in our city.
When schools are closed due to inclement weather, it is a good indicator that your garbage, recycling and yard debris services will likely be interrupted. Call your hauler directly to learn about altered schedules in your neighborhood. In the event of widespread service interruptions, status updates will be posted on the City website, www.BeavertonOregon.gov/recycling. Please note the following about your services:
GARBAGE When garbage collection is postponed, your hauler may attempt to pick up your garbage the following day OR the following week on your normal collection day (call your hauler to learn their plan). If collection is delayed until the following week, twice the amount of your current subscribed level will be collected at no additional charge.
RECYCLING If recycling is not picked up on normally-scheduled collection days, the truck will return the following week on your normal collection day.
YARD DEBRIS If yard debris is not picked up, residents can leave twice the usual amount on the next regularly scheduled yard debris collection day, at no additional charge.
