Business License Application

You can use the online Business License Application Form to apply for a new business license or renew an existing business license, but only if the business license fee is $150.00 or less (including delinquency charges).

Important Notes:

  • In certain circumstances it is possible that you will need additional permits. If the online form tells you that you need additional permits then follow the instructions given (you will need to come to City Hall to acquire the additional permits).
  • If you need to cancel your business license, then you must contact the Finance Department at (503) 526-2255.
  • If you need to change non-public details about your business, you must contact the Finance Department at (503) 526-2255.
  • Submitting your payment online does not guarantee that your payment will be accepted. If your credit card payment is rejected, then your license will be considered unpaid and we will notify you that payment was not accepted. After you receive notification that payment was not accepted, the business license will be considered delinquent. A business license fee due from any person and not paid in full when due is delinquent, and the City may avail itself of any and all remedies available to it to collect the fee from that person, including but not limited to citation of the person for a violation of the Beaverton Code. A delinquent charge of 10% of the business license fee that is due from any person and is delinquent shall be added to the fee that is otherwise due for each successive 30 day period or portion thereof for which any portion of the amount due, including delinquent charges already imposed, remains unpaid, up to maximum penalty of 100% of the license fee.

  • You may only apply for a renewal if today’s date is within 30 days of the expiration date of your current license.

What You Need

You need the following to submit your business license application online:
  1. If this is a license renewal, you will need the business license number and business name as it appears on your current business license.
  2. Have a valid Visa or Master Card credit card.
  3. Complete the four-step (for new licenses) or four-step (for renewals) Business License Application Process.

Restrictions

You may NOT use this online payment form if:
  1. If your business is an apartment, hotel or motel and you have more than 120 units, then your license fee will be greater than $150.00 and you will not be able to use this form.
  2. For other business types, if you have more than 15 employees, then your license fee will be greater than $150.00 and you will not be able to use this form.
  3. Your current license expires more than 30 days after today’s date.
  4. If your business license has been terminated.
  5. If your business is a Non-Profit organization (contact the Finance Department at the City of Beaverton to register for a Non-Profit business license).
  6. If any address in your application (business address, owner address, etc) is outside of the United States of America.

Step 3—Enter additional business information.

Step 4—After you verify that the information is correct and print out the payment summary, submit the form for processing. You will receive notification of payment status in email (if you provided a valid email address).

Step 3—Enter/change (if applicable) the details of payment.
