Evacuation

In the event of a serious threat to public safety you may be asked to evacuate. If you are notified that you must evacuate through local media or directly by city officials, do so immediately.

Be Prepared:

Find out where designated shelters are in your area
Know the evacuation plans for your work, schools, etc
Keep maps and phone numbers for each potential evacuation location
Wear appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes
Call a motel or hotel to ensure that they have a room available before your arrival
Take your Go Bag
Lock your house
Use authorized routes
Leave a note that says when you left and where you are going
Call your out-of-area contact and let them know when you are safe
