When Emergencies Happen

The City of Beaverton is vulnerable to various natural, technological, and wartime related hazards which have the potential to affect the safety, health, and welfare of the population and cause damage or destruction to public and private property.

Emergencies of various types, size, intensity and duration may occur within or near the jurisdictional boundaries of the City with little or no warning.

To help you prepare the Emergency Management program has posted hazard specific information on what to do when emergencies happen.

During a major event or disaster the need for emergency service will be greater than the resources available and it will take a longer period of time to meet all the needs.

Did you know:

In Beaverton there are over 80,000 residents in roughly 32,000 single and multi-family dwellings
There are countless businesses including 17 assisted living facilities and nursing homes
There are 428 paid and volunteer firefighters in all of TVF&R’s service area and 450 regular City employees including Library staff and administrative assistants.

“We take a proactive approach to enhancing the City’s preparedness and educating the public.
