Outstanding Achievement in the Arts


Mayor Denny Doyle and the Beaverton Arts Commission celebrate the recipients of the Outstanding Achievement in the Arts Awards where students, individuals, organizations and businesses are recognized and honored for their significant contributions to the arts.
The art presented by our local community members is truly inspired. Beaverton continues to thrive because of our artists. These individuals, organizations, and volunteers add so much to our community.

2016 BAC Art Awards

Nominations & Honors


Nominated by their peers and selected by the Board of Directors of the Beaverton Arts Commission, the individuals, businesses and organizations represented will be honored for their contributions to the arts. Student honorees are nominated by their teachers and selected by an arts education panel and approved by the Beaverton Arts Commission Board of Directors. Five ‘Outstanding High School Visual Art Students’ and four ‘Outstanding Performing Art Students’ will receive scholarships sponsored by the Beaverton Arts and Culture Foundation, Juan Young Trust and Southminster Presbyterian Church Celebration of Creativity.

  • Art in the Marketplace Award – Beaverton Civic Theatre
  • Art Partners of the Year Award – HomePlate Youth Services
  • Arts & Culture Excellence Award – Tina Arth and Darrell Baker (posthumously)
  • Business of the Year Award – Washington County Visitors Association
  • Art Supporter of the Year – Beaverton City Library
  • Partner in Arts Education Award –Michael Johnson, Principal of Arts & Communication Magnet Academy (ACMA)
  • Outstanding Art Instructor – Kenneth Bischoff, Westview High School
  • Art Leadership Award – Global Art of Dance Studio (Myong-Hui Murphy and Lisa Chang)
